Keep your UV sterilizer performing at peak disinfection efficiency with this high-purity fused quartz replacement sleeve for 55W UV sterilizer systems. The quartz sleeve serves two critical functions simultaneously: it physically protects the UV lamp from direct water contact, and it transmits over 90% of UV-C energy at 254nm into the water stream — far superior to standard borosilicate glass which absorbs most UV-C radiation. Mineral scale deposits and micro-scratches accumulate over time, reducing UV transmittance and compromising germicidal effectiveness even when the sleeve appears visually clean. Replace annually together with the UV lamp, or immediately if cracked or fouled beyond cleaning. To clean: soak in white vinegar for 30–60 minutes or wipe with isopropyl alcohol. Handle with clean, dry hands or cotton gloves — finger oils reduce UV transmittance.
